Senate Judiciary Committee Moves Immigration Reform Bill to Senate Floor

After debating over 200 of the 300 proposed amendments to S. 744, “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” the Senate Judiciary Committee finally clears the Gang of Eight’s immigration reform bill for full Senate debate by a 13-5 vote yesterday.

This is a big step forward in fixing our broken immigration system. While we expect more possible hurdles in the coming debates, we are optimistic that Congress will ultimately reach a compromise on this bill.
